Position Overview
The Senior Regulatory Attorney will provide expert legal counsel on regulatory matters impacting utility operations, focusing on Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) compliance. This individual will play a crucial role in developing strategies to navigate the regulatory landscape and will work closely with the leadership team to shape and execute our compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage regulatory compliance initiatives, including filings and reports required by FERC and PUC.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory issues related to natural gas operations.
- Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, hearings, and before regulatory bodies, ensuring a proactive approach to compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and interpret regulatory changes and advise on their potential impact on company operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulators, industry stakeholders, and legal counterparts to influence regulatory outcomes beneficial to the company and its stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with FERC, PUC, and natural gas regulatory matters.
- Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (mandatory).
- Proven experience in utility regulatory compliance, particularly in the natural gas sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory law, administrative processes, and public utility compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with an ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
