A leading Private Investment Firm is seeking a Senior Technology Counsel to join their NYC-based legal team. This multi-strategy firm invests across multiple sectors and focuses on long-term investments as well as early-stage ventures within demanding technology subsectors. This Senior Technology Counsel will report directly into senior leadership and have visibility across their portfolio companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate a wide range of contracts with respect to global licensing, privacy and data protection, information management, SaaS, SOWs and intellectual property.
- Provide legal advice and support to the company's IT-focused venture arm, portfolio company management and leadership.
- Stay informed of legal developments related to technology, including GDPR, CCPA, and other data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal Department and coordinate with outside counsel on complex projects.
Required Skills:
- J.D., Bar membership and 7+ years of technology-related contract experience including licensing, SaaS and SOWs; data privacy and intellectual property experience preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with executive presence and work collaboratively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple demands and projects simultaneously.
- Private practice experience required.
