A leading Reinsurance intermediary is building out their presence across North America, and is looking for an individual to oversee all matters related to Reinsurance Contracts. This individual will have high visibility across the business, and will work cross-functionally with brokers, clients, and senior leadership on a variety of Reinsurance Contract related issues. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating reinsurance contracts, corresponding with brokers and the business generally, and advising on the overall contracting/reinsurance placement process.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft and review Reinsurance contracts in accordance with negotiated terms.
- Negotiate with brokers; execute terms in accordance with both client needs and internal policies.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of the Reinsurance placement process.
- Work cross functionally with internal and external parties, including brokers and clients, to efficiently negotiate and draft new reinsurance contracts.
- Navigate contract wording and language to accurately represent Reinsurance negotiations.
- Advise on Reinsurance contracts and coverage matters; identify contract and coverage issues and provide recommendations accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- A Law Degree or Legal background is not a requirement, but it is considered a significant plus.
- Strong business acumen; deep familiarity with the reinsurance industry and ability to advise internal and external parties on all matters related to reinsurance contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills; ability to navigate difficult conversations with brokers, clients, etc.
- Extensive Reinsurance Contract experience and familiarity with the Reinsurance placement process; understanding of North American contract law and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent writing and communication skills; used to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients regarding Reinsurance contract matters.
- Comfortability building strong relationships both in-person and virtually.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general administrative skills.
