Our client is a retailer headquartered in the greater Houston area that is quickly expanding its footprint. This company is growing it's legal team and looking to bring on a legal generalist to support various matters within an exciting organization. This person will report directly to the General Counsel and have the opportunity to be an integral part of a robust company.
Responsibilities:
- Offer legal advice, draft and negotiate contracts, and provide guidance on legal risks
- Assess commercial deals, create legal strategies, and oversee projects and timelines
- Support corporate policy development, conduct legal research, and adopt new technologies
- Manage intellectual property, insurance, tax, real estate, and construction matters
- Supervise legal staff and handle vendor setup
- Support other general legal matters as needed
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited Law School and licensed to practice law in Texas.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and agreements.
- Previous in-house experience preferred.
