Summary
This global manufacturer is looking to hire an attorney with commercial contracts experience to join the legal department and provide legal advice on diverse business issues, including strategies for contracts in both commodity and specialty sectors. You will work with cross-functional teams to assess legal risks, devise innovative solutions, and build strong relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, develop, and negotiate seller-side commercial contracts, balancing risk with strong benefits for internal clients.
- Provide ongoing and focused training to pricing teams, sales teams, business leaders, and support functions on relevant legal issues, including competition law, negotiation strategies, communication methods, and contracts.
- Serve as an ambassador to business clients by implementing and training on Legal Department processes.
- Offer additional support on an ad hoc basis for matters involving real estate, bankruptcy, M&A, tax/finance/accounting, distribution, and capital projects.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate
- Active member of at least one US state bar in good standing, with the ability to obtain the in-house counsel Tennessee bar.
- 5+ years of legal experience, ideally with both firm and in-house experience in the energy and/or manufacturing sectors.
- Extensive experience in various legal matters, including commercial contracts, competition law, and transactions. Experience with complex engineering, procurement, and construction contracts is a plus.
