Our client, a Leading Global Bank, is looking to expand their Legal team with an experienced Trade Finance Counsel. This role would report directly to a Managing Director and as they build out this team, they're open to any qualified candidate to work out of any of their United States Offices.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on global trade transactions, including trade loans, import/export financing, and letters of credit.
- Provide legal guidance on trade product structures and documentation, focusing on New York law.
- Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, risk, finance, and tax teams on trade-related issues and projects.
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel on global legal matters.
- Ensure familiarity with relevant laws and practices, including the Uniform Commercial Code, ISP 98, and UCP.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of legal experience in financial services.
- Expertise in banking regulations and financial industry laws.
- Knowledge of international laws and regulatory environments.
- Strong skills in communication, negotiation, and relationship management.
- Ability to manage complex deals and provide sound legal solutions in a fast-paced environment.
