Core Responsibilities:
- Evaluate Agreements: Assess new business agreements with vendors and subcontractors.
- Draft Contracts: Create contracts and agreements that align with business interests and regulations.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure company-wide compliance with State and Federal laws, including CMS Regulations, HIPAA, HITECH, and Michigan Hospital and Nursing Home Operation Laws.
- Legal Representation: Prepare legal documents and represent the company in legal proceedings.
- Policy Design: Develop and oversee the company's legal policies.
- Real Estate Management: Handle real estate acquisitions and negotiations.
- Risk Protection: Safeguard the company against legal risks.
- HR Advisory: Advise on human resource policies to mitigate risks.
- Corporate Governance: Manage corporate governance issues.
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice law by the Michigan State Bar Association.
- JD from an accredited law school.
- 7-10 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in corporate law.
- Experience with CMS Regulations and Michigan Nursing Home Operation Laws.
- Knowledge of union contracts, EEOC, and labor laws.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Experience in healthcare law.
