A leading government contractor in the industrial and commercial construction space is looking to grow their hihgly valued and respected legal team. They are seeking an experienced Government Contracts Counsel with a strong background in FAR and DFAR contracts, compliance management, and government contracting within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field, with management of direct reports experience preferred. This role will be based out of the Lenexa, Kansas office.
The Government Contracts Counsel will:
Draft, review, and negotiate FAR and DFAR contracts, service agreements, subcontracts, and other related documents.
Provide legal advice and support on government contracting matters, including compliance management, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to government regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
Assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies to minimize risk and maximize opportunities in government contracting.
The Government Contracts Counsel must have:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active bar membership in at least one state.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in FAR and DFAR contracts, compliance management, and government contracting within the construction industry.
Strong experience in drafting and negotiating government contracts, service agreements, and subcontracts.
