A top Property & Casualty Insurance company in the Sarasota area is looking to hire an AVP-level candidate to handle Legal & Compliance matters for the firm. In this key role, this person will work closely with the VP of Legal & Compliance, assisting in leading both departments. This candidate will serve as the right-hand person to the VP, overseeing two direct reports in a people management position, and managing risk management for the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Legal & Compliance to lead the department.
- Supervise two junior team members
- Manage risk management initiatives for the company.
- Work cross-functionally across Claims, Compliance, IT, HR, Accounting, and more
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience as an attorney in the Property and Casualty industry (specifically with homeowners experience)
- Strong interpersonal, managerial, and diplomacy skills.
- Admission to the Florida State Bar.
