A Top Insurance firm with offices across California is looking for a talented In-House Civil Litigation Attorney to assist in building up an in-house Civil Litigation practice for the firm from the ground up. This person will be given the opportunity to get in at the ground floor and be part of the growth for this new department. This is a firm that offers excellent work-life-balance with a hybrid schedule of only 1x per week in one of the firm's regional offices in California (Sacramento, Los Angeles, & Fresno).
This person will be responsible for the hands-on management of all civil litigation cases related to personal injury & auto accidents primarily, but will touch on some aspects of premises liability and other general liability claims as well. The cases covered will be very high-exposure in terms of value, with this person being responsible for all phases of pre-litigation and litigation activity on all insurance defense matters. Leadership opportunity will be offered down the line once the groundwork is set for this team.
The firm is ideally looking for candidates with at least 5+ years of experience as an Attorney litigating insurance defense matters either in-house or at a law firm, with substantial experience covering high-value personal injury cases.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of pre-litigation and litigation activity on insurance defense matters on high-value personal injury cases
- Serving as a legal advisor to the firm on all legal issues and legal strategy considerations relating to the litigated and non-litigated insurance defense matters
- Assisting in the growth of a new in-house civil litigation department for the firm over time
Qualifications:
- At least 5+ years of experience in all phases of insurance defense litigation for high-value personal injury cases
- A member in good standing of the California State Bar
- First chair trial experience preferred
- Ability to travel for in-person court dates as needed
- Local to Los Angeles, Sacramento, or Fresno
