About the Role
As a Patent Agent, you will work closely with scientists, legal teams, and business leaders to develop and manage the company's intellectual property strategy. Your expertise in chemistry-related biotech innovations will help drive the success of our R&D efforts and ensure our technologies remain at the forefront of the industry.
Responsibilities
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications related to chemistry and biotech innovations
- Conduct prior art searches, patentability analyses, and freedom-to-operate assessments
- Collaborate with R&D teams to identify and protect key inventions
- Monitor global patent landscapes and provide strategic IP insights
- Support patent litigation, licensing, and due diligence activities
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or M.S.) in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
- USPTO registration as a Patent Agent
- At least two years of experience in patent prosecution, preferably in a biotech or law firm setting
- Strong understanding of chemical and biotech patent landscapes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
