A major energy company primarily focused in electricity and clean energy is looking to expand their team with a Regulatory Counsel. This individual should have experience with handling regulatory matters either in front of EPA or FERC, with a strong preference for environmental regulatory experience. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-rounded, collaborative group of attorneys.
The Regulatory Counsel will:
- Provide legal counsel on regulatory compliance issues related to the energy and environmental sectors.
- Represent the company in regulatory proceedings and interactions with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement compliance strategies to ensure adherence to environmental laws and regulations, including those related to the EPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and FERC.
- Review and analyze proposed regulations and legislation to assess their impact on the company's operations.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
The Regulatory Counsel must have:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona or a willingness to waive in.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience handling regulatory matters related to the EPA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, FERC, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
