Position Overview
The Senior Legal Counsel will join our team as a full-time employee, reporting directly to the General Counsel. This role is pivotal in supporting our diverse legal needs. The Senior Legal Counsel will engage with all facets of our rapidly expanding corporate environment within the renewable energy industry. Responsibilities
The Senior Legal Counsel will handle a wide array of legal matters essential to our operations. Daily responsibilities will vary but are expected to include:
- Negotiating and drafting Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts
- Supporting business development efforts and acquisitions of renewable energy projects
- Drafting and reviewing Equipment Procurement Contracts
- Overseeing Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Contracts
- Structuring Community Solar Subscription Agreements
- Negotiating Interconnection Agreements
- Addressing general corporate legal matters
- Handling Energy Regulatory legal matters
- While the role primarily focuses on transactional legal services, there may be involvement in dispute management or litigation, collaborating closely with external counsel.
Qualifications
- JD degree, admitted to and in good standing with at least one state bar
- Minimum of eight to ten years of legal experience, with a strong background in transactional work, ideally encompassing most of the responsibilities listed above
- Previous experience in the energy industry is required, with a preference for renewable energy experience
- Familiarity with corporate legal environments is advantageous
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, including proficiency in contract drafting
- Proficiency in Word, Adobe, and PowerPoint
Location
This position is based in Atlanta, GA, with potential relocation assistance available. Our team operates from the Atlanta office Monday through Thursday and remotely on Fridays. While this is not a remote-only role, occasional travel may be required.
