We have partnered with a Fortune 500 company in the Retail industry that is looking to add a Senior Real Estate Counsel to the team. This individual will play a pivotal role in the organization's real estate operations and will provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of real estate matters, including property acquisitions, leasing agreements, development projects, zoning regulations, and property management. You would be a joining a collaborative legal team under great mentorship/leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate leases, purchase and sale agreements, REAs, development agreements and other commercial real estate documents.
- Provide legal guidance regarding lease provisions, violations, construction issues, landlord/tenant disputes, and maintenance issues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, developers, and project managers, to support real estate transactions from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with managing all real estate related litigation.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 8+ years of experience at a law firm and in-house environment.
- Experience with real estate law on behalf of a retail organization is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction contracts is preferred.
- Commercial real estate experience required.
