Role Overview:
We are currently in search of a seasoned Compliance Officer who will be instrumental in driving our compliance initiatives forward. This role is pivotal in developing, implementing, and overseeing a robust compliance strategy that aligns with both local and international regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be integral in fostering a culture of compliance, managing key regulatory relationships, and ensuring that our products and services uphold the utmost standards of legal and ethical compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategically develop and enforce a comprehensive compliance framework that is in strict alignment with both local and international regulations. This framework will serve as the backbone of our regulatory practices and policies.
- Manage and oversee all facets of regulatory compliance, including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and data protection laws, ensuring comprehensive coverage and adherence to all legal obligations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, effectively managing all forms of communication, audits, and inspections to maintain excellent working relationships and a positive regulatory stance.
- Continuously monitor changes and updates in regulatory requirements, adapting company strategies to meet these evolving standards and ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Provide expert strategic advice to the company's leadership regarding potential compliance risks and opportunities, aiding in informed decision-making to align with the company's strategic goals.
- Design and execute targeted compliance training programs aimed at all levels of employees to cultivate a widespread organizational culture of compliance and integrity.
- Carry out rigorous internal compliance reviews and audits, swiftly addressing any discrepancies or areas of concern with effective corrective measures.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of compliance professionals, creating a supportive and high-performance work environment that encourages professional growth and excellence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in a high-level compliance role, specifically within the financial services or fintech sectors, showcasing a deep understanding of the complexities and challenges within this dynamic industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pivotal regulations and guidelines that impact the payments sector, such as PSD2, AMLD, GDPR, among others, demonstrating an ability to navigate and apply these regulations effectively.
- Proven track record of successful engagement with the MPI license application process and a robust professional relationship with MAS, illustrating a strong regulatory network and influence.
- Rich experience in collaborating with international regulatory authorities and leading complex regulatory projects across different jurisdictions, ensuring global compliance and operational excellence.
- Exceptional leadership capabilities with a proven ability to motivate, guide, and influence diverse cross-functional teams towards achieving regulatory compliance and business objectives.
- Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, essential for effective decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CAMS, ICA, or an equivalent qualification, underscoring a formal recognition of compliance expertise.
