The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will assist in managing compliance with NERC Operations & Planning Reliability Standards, focusing on evaluating and coordinating compliance processes, monitoring regulations, and preparing compliance documentation. The role requires working closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to address compliance issues, track regulatory changes, and ensure the company is "audit-ready." The position will involve a hybrid work arrangement, based in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and verify compliance with FERC, NERC, PJM, and RF regulations, including audits, self-certifications, data submittals, and investigations.
- Collaborate with SMEs across various departments to review and improve compliance programs and practices, conducting evaluations or root cause analyses when gaps are found.
- Assist with investigating, documenting, and submitting potential violations to regulatory organizations for resolution and ensure compliance records are maintained.
- Support the preparation and coordination of compliance audits, including organizing audit workbooks, coordinating mock audits, and assisting external parties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Seven or more years of experience in a compliance or audit role, with expertise in NERC Operations & Planning standards.
- Experience in a regulated entity, particularly in the energy sector or other regulated industries (e.g., financial, healthcare).
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to work across various teams to address compliance issues.
